November Reads

November saw me embracing my artistic side again. I’ve been following a lot of creative instagrammers and in October I had to do some creative stuff for work. So with cheap supplies from the dollar store and Michaels, I got cracking. I painted some rocks with my mom and whatnot. I was inspired to do the above painting by my favorite symbol, the ankh. I also started cross-stitching. LOL So all this crafty-ness means less reading time for me. But I still managed to read 14 books!

  1. Good Time Bad Boy by Sonya Clark
  2. Magic Rises by Ilona Andrews
  3. Screwed by Kendall Ryan
  4. Revealed to Him by Jen Frederick
  5. All the Right Places by Jenna Sutton
  6. The Pact by Karina Halle
  7. Crazy For You by Jennifer Crusie
  8. Dragos Goes to Washington by Thea Harrison
  9. The Game Plan by Kristan Callihan
  10. Friends Without Benefits by Penny Reid
  11. Mechanic by Alexa Riley
  12. Pucked Up by Helena Hunting
  13. Lexi by T. Gephart
  14. Hollywood Dirt by Alessandra Torre

I had three standout favourites from November: Good Time Bad Boy, Magic Rises and Revealed to Him by Jen Frederick. Crazy For You was a re-read and that’s an old time favourite. On the flip side, Mechanic was a book I did not enjoy. I liked the cover, saw on a blog somewhere that someone enjoyed it but bleh. I did not like it at all. Just not for me.

Despite reading some great books, I feel like my reading really slowed down in November. One book took me a whole week to read and that had nothing to do with my other side projects. I enjoyed that book too, but there was a mental block for sure.

For December, I’m going to try and read some print books. I almost challenged myself to only read print books for the month but I was getting anxiety over that so Nath talked me out of it. She suggested I start smaller. LOL I’ll go along with that. I’ll try to incorporate more print books into my reading rotation.

How was your reading in November?

My volume of reading this year is way down. I’m hoping I hit 70 books by the end of December *sigh*.

I recently did a big weed of the print TBR, but I still have SO much print. One thing I’ve tried to do is read print books for my monthly TBR Challenge. Now if I could just get better about DNF’ing print books + with the TBR Challenge – I might eventually make a serious dent in the pile. But so far it’s been baby steps.

How did you weed out your tbr pile? Did you have a method? I’m going to use brutal honesty and seeing if I also have the book in e. I know I have some duplicates.

      Good luck hitting 70!

Mostly brutal honesty 🙂 “I’m over cutesy-sounding westerns” and “I know I love your contemporaries but I’m just never going to read your paranormals – I’m sorry favorite author!”

I only went through my mass market single titles though. I still need to dive into the trade paperbacks and take another run through my Giant Rubbermaid Tub of Harlequins.

The Jen Frederick…I’m really interested to read your thoughts on that one so tell me…are you going to review it? Pretty please???

Love the art stuff you’ve been doing and posting on Instagram. You are such a great painter!
