Week in Review: July 10 to 16

The past week was a good one. No drama with my house guest and the weather was nice so I got to take my love on a few walks this week. However, the little stinker has taken to trying to eat things on our walk. Like things I can’t identify. And  yesterday she licked something and she kept coughing afterwards. So I need to keep her on a shorter leash on our walks. Plus she tries to rub herself on dead things (even bugs, so gross). LOL Special dog. Reading wise, no complaints! Three books! We’re only halfway through July but I’ll be on track to read more than 9 books this month. Yay.

BOOKS READ

mbfemqMy Best Friend’s Ex by Meghan Quinn

  • This author’s writing style is just not for me. I liked the characters and the story but there was just too much internal dialog and navel gazing. I may try out another book by this author though.

apoccAll Played Out by Cora Carmack

  • Every month Wena and I read a book and buddy review it over on her blog. (See below for June’s book.) So looking ahead to July, a certain author said she’d be releasing book 4 in this series on the 18th. Wena and I chose that book for our July read. WELL I never even read book 3! LOL So I read it in preparation of book 4 and I really enjoyed it. But I’ll have to wait a while for book 4 since the release date got pushed back again.

abmksAnything but Minor by Kate Stewart

  • I saw positive buzz for this book last year so I thought I’d finally take the plunge. I’m glad I did. I liked the characters and the writing, for the most part. I really liked Alice’s nerdy character but some of her quirks were just a wee (ha!) bit off putting. LOL I will definitely check out the next book in the series.

  1. fantastic books!! I can’t wait to read the upcoming book by Cora Carmack’s Rusk University. Kate Stewart is a great author, but I really loved her more serious book, Brave Line – it was FABULOUS!!!

At this rate, we’re going to get Stella’s book when we’re 60 years old and hopefully, still buddy reviewing together. LOL.

Navel gazing? LOL, what does that mean?
