I posted yesterday about having a book hangover. It’s still the case because I chose a book to read but haven’t gotten into it yet. I honestly believe that my lack of reading is stress related. And that stress won’t abate until after the third week of September. Boo.
I did manage to read one book this week though. A Promise of Fire by Amanda Bouchet and I really enjoyed it. I finished that on Wednesday and yeah…that’s a big chunk of reading time lost. I’m not doing anything productive with that time either. I wanted to paint today…didn’t do that. I’m just a ball of stress. So excuse me while I go into a corner and cry.
Here’s my little haul for the week. I went to the library on Friday. Not pictured in there was a book on calligraphy. 😛 And the top 3 paperbacks are from Saturday. I had a $10 card for Chapters that I had to use by the end of the month. I also picked up an emerald dotted Leuchtturm. According to my calculations, I’ll be done my current notebook by December. So I’m hoping my new purchase will be my 2017 bujo.
Not pictured are my ebook buys from today. Kobo has a 50% off coupon happening right now. Maybe one of those books will drag me out of this hangover.
Hope you find something to pull you soon!

You’re definitively stressed and it sucks that it affects your reading. Just take it easy right now. You don’t need to stress about not reading. Watch TV, paint, relax! I think sometimes, when we’re stressed, it’s hard to read because reading takes focus, need to concentrate on the story and characters. Something that might help: re-reading!
